Trojan Agent ZAK. My Pc was infected by this Trojan and I followed the advice given in a previous answer ?

by downloading a Malaware programme. This identified the virus and got rid of it. However, since then my system is sluggish and for about 50% of the time fails to load up pages. I have run mal-aware and AVG and both say my system is clean. Is this virus still hiding somewhere? Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Possibly it may of damaged your system restore to factory settings will do the trick.

well thats what you get for using a free security like AVG. bet your Bootes its still there. Spend out get the best Norton on line regular updates for new Trojans and viruses It will seek them out guaranteed and you wont get any more with Norton.

probably yes its still there,,

try these in order,

download Yahoo toolbar with antispy,,,when u run scan it checks and loads updates,,,,,run scan,,,if its there it will find it select what you want to remove and remove it,,,gives advice as well select info and it tells you what it is exactly,,,all for free.

if that doesnt work download Adaware that will also root out trouble and quarantine the problem,,thats free as well

You may need to run your PC in safe mode - this only loads esential drivers to get the PC up and running. Its very possible the malware/virus is being loaded on start up and therefore you virus scanner is unable to register or clean it at that point.

Doing a virus clean in safe mode may be easier in getting rid of it.

Also check which processes are running in the Task Manager - look for unusual processes- see if you can identify what programs are running.
