Ive been getting a lot of crappy answers and I need someone to tell me the right one. Well anyways, this guy told my friend to dl this program called activex or something and I guess it had a Trojan on it. That person hacked my friends gaming account and myspace. He sent me a picture that the hacker sent to my friend and my friend sent it to me. The hacker uploaded it from "imageshack.us" and I clicked the link that the hacker sent to my friend then my friend sent to me. Can this pic be infected with a Trojan horse? I have avg free 8.0 and spybot, will these two remove the Trojan if I got one from the pic?

  1. Not trying to flame anybody but if the only way to get rid of malware is to reload then we're all in DEEp $H!! . Try using a quality product like Kaspersky, ESET Nod 32 / smart security, Or Trend Micro. Also the PROPER way to remove malware is to turn off system restore (where spyware can hide) Re boot in safe mode then run your scans. Then reboot normally re run your scans and turn your system restore back on.

    BTW

Trend Micro has a FREE online scanner called Housecall.

Kaspersky has a Free scan as well as a Free 30day trial.

  4. unfortunately the best way to get rid of a trojan is to backup all your important files and wipe out your system. my bro gets viruses on his comp all the time so i have to go to his house and re-install windows every couple of months. apparently even online girls carry diseases

  5. You should use an antivirus program and antispyware software, because your computer is now infected with viruses and/or spyware.

Here you have more information on computer security, as well as good and free programs that you can download into your computer:

All are safe and can be trusted and you can download one.

  6. Spybot may get rid of it,run both though. Look closer at the spelling of the link,it is spelled a little different to fool you.

added. If your spelling is correct it may be legit,I was thinking of one that adds an A and is .org. Sorry if I confused you,but running scans won't hurt anyway.

  7. Don't open the pic.

  8. contact myspace and download this asap: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-F...

get full version if you can trial here: http://www.grisoft.com/ww.download-trial when your done you can buy it or get free version here: http://free.avg.com

  9. Yeah just update the definitions of the freeware, and run a scan on your system. A combo of AVG and Spybot are sufficient to get rid of all the infections. If not try to run your system in safe mode and run a scan on your system using these individually.
