Trolling for tuna?

my boat does not have outriggers

You don't have to have riggers. Troll FAR behind the boat. A red and black skirted "feather" works well. Look for the birds. Won't always be tuna they're on, but will tell you where the fish are. DON'T run through fish, they will go down. Circle them. When you hook up, you can switch to live bait for bigger fish. Also throw a few live ones out towards fish to keep them interested.
