I am planning on getting a 5 person inflatable boat and putting a trolling motor on the back. What size trolling motor should I get to be able to get this thing moving, and how much time can you get out of one battery? Heres a link to the boat http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-INTEX-EXCURSION-5-BOAT-SET-INFLATABLE-RAFT-BOAT-SET_W0QQitemZ270219652620QQihZ017QQcategoryZ87090QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

  1. i have seen yhis type of boat in the rough. And i would not put a motor on it,, or 5 people,,,or put it in water deeper that 4 feet.

  2. get a optima blue top batterie and a regular one just for backup. the optima should get a good 5 to mabey six hrs. on a full charge

  3. Ha Ha Ha ...Better check closer...I hope you know how to swim.  You first have to check mfgr's specs on capacity in persons/pounds... I doubt you could carry 5 adults in that boat..Don't forget required safety equioment !

Mfgr's specs also must state horsepower limits for boat. . That determines size of motor. Next : another weighty matter ( pun intended)   a reasonable marine deep discharge battery is at least 45 lbs.Good for more hours than you could stand sitting in that boat.  Doesn't that ad copy remind  you of dollar store merchandise ad copy ?

  4. Where would you think that you would mount any type of mechanical propulsion on this craft? It is Strong arm propulsion only
