Trop Fort favourite to top Handicap Hurdle
Trop Fort seems to be in the most favourable position to finish first in Children’s Hospice South-West Handicap Hurdle which is set to take place at Exeter racecourse on Wednesday, April 4.
The high-stakes Class 3 contest over 2m3f distance will commence at 2:50 (GMT). The legendary trainer David Pipe’s bay gelding is geared up to fight potentially against J’ Adhere, Quarton, Dragon’s Den, Leopard Hills and Ardkilly Rebel.
For the prize money worth £4,549, Trop Fort will demonstrate a big run after breaking from Trap 2. Since making his debut in September 2010, the five-year-old young sprinter has been delivering eye-catching performances.
The maverick horse won the first two races of his career in a row. After finishing 3rd in a tough competition on December 29, 2011, the dashing gelding earned a runner-up spot in his last outing on March 5, 2012.
The talented horse has pursed £20,728 as prize money. At the moment, he is enjoying great momentum which will surely help him make a big impact in today’s showdown.
Trop Fort’s chances to finish first in the mega marathon are as high as 90 percent provided he manages to dominate Dragon’s Den and J’ Adhere---the two worthy runners who can give enough tough time to the hot favourite horse.
Dragon’s Den has won 1 out of his total 19 starts to date. His first and last victory came in October 2011. The Chris Down-trained bay gelding excellently clinched runner-up position in his last outing on March 12, 2012. Overall, he owns an epic track record.
On the other hand, J’ Adhere has 3 triumphs to his credit. The trainee of Tim Vaughan won a magnificent race in December 2011. After finishing second in a big race on February 22, 2012, the veteran horse grabbed 4th spot each in the two subsequent
outings in a row.
Trop Fort will have to apply utmost firepower in order to keep his head high during the race. Only a minor mistake can deprive him of a possible success. Let us see how he struggles to justify his favourite tag. Good luck to the gelding.
