  1. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN -- IT IS A WHITE JOKE MAKING FUN

    OF WHITE PEOPLE   HAHAHAHHA

  2. Back in 1992, when Ross Perot was running for President, he made a remark about the economy to some kind of black organization.  Approximately: "...and who suffers first when there's a recession? You people do."

This engendered two responses. First, a lot of black people taking offense (of questionable authenticity) to the phrase "you people", implying that Ross Perot was somehow being racist in using the phrase. Remember this is 1992, so it was the height of the "political correctness" movement. There were deep tortured discussions on Larry King Live and Crossfire about whether Ross Perot was a subconscious racist.

The second was everyone laughing their *** off at the faux-offense of all the black people going around acting like "you people" was seriously racist. Especially other black people who thought it was ridiculous.

Ever since then, taking faux offense at someone saying "you people" has been a perennial joke aimed at blacks who are oversensitive to any possible offense and trigger happy with implying someone is a racist.

The moment in the movie is especially funny because the guy who says it isn't even black, he's a white guy who is playing black.

  3. It was taken as a racist remark against black people. "You people always do this."

  4. Black people!
