Tropic thunder and Robert Downey ?

Ok in the movie tropic thunder Robert Downey who undergoes cosmetic surgery to play the part of a black man in a movie(im sure he doesn't really do it in this movie in real life) is Robert Downey really playing the black man in the movie? I just keep listening to his voice and looking at him and it just doesn't seem its Robert Downey.

So is the black man in tropic thunder really robert downey?

Good question. I had the same suspicions. A Hollywood insider friend of mine tells me that Tom Cruise played the character Kirk Lazarus. As you are aware Cruise also played the character Grossman.

He didn't have surgery. That's a load of bull.

It's make up.  And yes it is Robert Downey Jr.

You are aware Hollywood edits their movies, right? They can edit his voice to be lower or higher or whatever they want.
