Question:

Tropical Christmas ideas?

Has anyone ever gone on a tropical Christmas vacation? If so, where to? Was it warm enough to swim? Did you feel odd being on a beach somewhere instead of having a white Christmas? Please let me know...there is a certain family member I can't handle being stuck under the same roof with for a week, so I thought the beach would be better for everyone. I just need to find a cheap place where I can be warm and swim...

Thanks in advance!

  2. A cheap place to stay in winter season is Southeastasia. Than we have here highseason.

But instead of Thailand or Vietnam my tip is Cambodia. It is more cheap than Thailand/Vietnam. There are not (yet) too much tourist - even in the high season. You have wonderful and long beaches with coconut palmtrees and white sand. If you drive half an hour out of Sihanoukville for example you will have a hole beach for yourself with a bit of luck.

The people are friendly, the water (ocean) is nice. No earthquakes, no Tsunamis. The gouvernment is stable.

The only point: I have not been to Europe now since more than 2 years. So I had my last real Christmas 3 years ago. The first year it was interesting and strange (when you hear Silent Night at the end of October). The second year there where no more Christmas feelings as the hole time before Christmas, where the Christmas feeling grows there was nothing similar to Europe.

It becomes just another nice and sunny day in tropical paradise ;)
