I woke up this morning to realize that it had changed paths and staterd to head right towards my town. I was expecting a little more than this. So far it has made landfall but we have not had any rough rain. My kids were expecting more. I dont wish anything bad It was hyped up to much.

  1. Well one thing to keep in mind here is that Texas has been under a massive ridge of high pressure over the past few weeks. The low levels are very dry so it has to fight that ridge and get the lower levels of moist before just the rain can hit the ground.

If anything it looks like it might be able to help cool things off slightly for areas that get the left over moisture.

  2. I live in the Panhandle of Texas, but I know how you feel. The news media has a way of blowing things completely out of poportion. We need rain real bad here and temp has been around 106 all week. Last week we had a few thunderstorms in the area and one of their reporting stations received 3 inches of rain. You would have thought the whole area received that must mositure instead of a several block area that just got lucky.  We are hoping to receive some rain from your hurricane.

  3. Edouard was far overhyped. I'm currently at downtown Houston. I'm not a heavy sleeper and I could have slept through this "monster."

  4. Sulphur, LA. I got 4.5 in. I am right off Cameron coast. That was plenty for us. Thanks.
