Question:

Tropical wave, where is it going?

I have noticed that the news has not mentioned anything about this tropical wave hitting the United States (i guess they don't scare people like previous years). The closest they say is it will hit is maybe the Bahamas. But do you think this storm would hit Florida possibly as a hurricane? I thought Florida was in the cone, but i have yet to see another projected track.

  2. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has really improved their web site this season.  Go to the following link and put your cursor over any of the highlighted tropical features and a pop-up window will appear with the latest information written by one of the forecaster.

The discussions are well written and easy to understand.  Since they are the experts, I will suggest that you check out what they have written about these tropical waves.

  3. According to the forecast models, this tropical wave could create a grim situation, unfortunately. Yes, they think that it could hit Florida, possibly as a dangerous Category 2 or 3 hurricane! On the bright side, though, long range models are notorious for being inaccurate. Just remember, be on guard. Best wishes!
