  1. just keep doing it agian and agian and agian, after 15 years of riding(ie my whole life)i dont even concentrate on my movement its second nature to post and all that

  2. pretend there are tacs on the bottom of your saddle and just go up and down that is how i learned and i have been riding for 3 and a half years.

  3. when you want to post, grip your horse with your legs, lean stiltly bak and sit tall, it works for me hope this helps?

    :)

  4. When you are posting, you want to be on a  horse that has a comfortable pace of go. You don't want a bumpy fast horse but rather a smooth medium paced horse. A horse that when you are posting, he's helping you with a rhythm.

It's not abnormal to have issues with posting, especially seeing as to how you were riding for only a few months. Riding english is a style that is hard to master, and in my thoughts the hardest part is the post. One big thing you have to remember is that you are using a lot of muscles you wouldn't originally use, so you need to work at it, and give them time to mature and grow stronger. When you post you don't really want to have to rely on your stirrups but rather on your inner thigh. Something to help tone those muscles are doing squats...they'll hurt for a bit but they'll help you out! The other thing is just to get riding. If you are taking lessons from a licensed instructor they should be able to give you correct instructions as to where your legs go, and how to hold your upper body so that your post is easier to come by.

Find your middle, your pull of balance in your body, and ride from there. If you have balance it will be a little easier for you to concentrate on your posting.

    Hope this helps!

    Good Luck riding! = ]

  5. To always keep your balance, and look up. I know that if I am looking down constantly, my balance gets screwed up. Just concentrate on moving with the horse.

  6. Always keep your heel down and your leg tight around the horse so 70% of ur weight is in the iron. never look down.ever.it will throw u and the horse off. keep ur hands up and fell the motion.

  7. have your heel down and toes pointing towards the sky. you should have a slight forward angle in your hip to keep you from posting straight up and down. keep your leg tight on the horse and practice riding without stirrups so your leg does not move up and down while you post. another excercise to use when posting is sit 2 beats, post one, sit 2 beats, post one. so it is pretty much like sit sit post sit sit post sit sit post etc. have quiet hands so you are not bothering the horse and causing him to stick his head up like a giraffe.
