Question:

Trotting in horse shows?

I have been riding about a year and a half, and am almost done with post ( rising) trot. I also just joined a new barn that has B,C, and schooling shows, can i participate in the B,C ones even though i am only at a posting trot? I hope so I love shows! thanks

    B,C, SHOWS used to be tough,,, I really do not know any more!

    Now I think I remember you saying ?your 13 teen ??

    After a yr &1/2 you should be already cantering ?

    So My answer is to you is ask your trainer ?? they know you better then we do

They have walk trot classes at horse shows.  In those classes you'll likely have to sitting trot as well as posting trot.  It's also possible that they could ask you to 2-point at the trot, but I've only seen that happen a couple of times.  You won't have to canter in those classes though.  So yes, you can show at your barn without knowing how to canter.
