  1. Well...  yes, it's wrong.

Riding western, you should be sitting the trot.

Riding english, you should be posting the trot (rising and sitting with each stride - it's smoother).

It's not like you'll hurt the horse or yourself doing this, but you won't get the best out of either of you.  And you'll never win an equitation/horsemanship class!

  2. No, it's not wrong, if you're not showing (competing is some sort of equitation classes), there are no rules.  Are you an exercise rider?  Some trainers want you off the horses' backs.  Nothing wrong with posting, if you don't smash your bum down on the saddle in the sitting phase.  You must have thighs of steel, if you do a lot of riding......

  3. YES ITS WRONG!!!,

i have had horses all my life and trotting while standing is a bad thing.

there is no reason two be standing while you are trotting. if you find your balance point then you will hardly move at all. i would recommend that you take a look on you-tube and look up fluidity by Linda Parelli.

  4. No, You can sit the trot or post the trot or stand the trot. It all depends on the way your feel comfortable riding.

  5. are you ridding western ?

    thats ok

what ever makes it comfortable for you and your horse most

But if you ride English learn how to post it a bit nicer

but do what you want ??
