  1. I just love it when these answers are just being nice to get points

No you wont be jumping soon ASK YOUR TRAINER

    WHY ASK IT ON HERE

We cant see you ride so how do we KNOW

  2. Not really you'll really have to learn to have a good seat even if your trotting poles , I do not let any of my students Jump until they can trot with out stirrups and canter with out them

    So Just kept trying

trotting pole helps you get the rythem of the horse , and helps you , kept your 2 point position, all the way thu

Now ask your trainer seems like she will know when your ready

  3. Trot poles are the first step to jumping.  At my barn, we do let kids jump cross rails before they can canter, so I think you probably will be jumping soon.  You'll get some practice over the trot poles first... probably at least 3 or 4 lessons, but if you're controlling the horse well and have good balance with your seat, then you'll be trotting cross rails before you know it.  Exciting, isn't it?!?

Shawn, I wasn't just being nice.  Don't accuse me of something so juvenile.  At my barn, we actually let kids jump before they canter.  I gave an honest answer.  Trotting cross rails isn't very different from trotting ground poles.

  4. probably not to soon. maybe after you start to canter over some ground poles.
