Ok, I am in the military just came from overseas and now stationed in California. My wife is still in Poland for VISA issues and I am having trouble calling her cell phone there. We were in Greece and I can still call there or anywheres else in the world no problem. And I know that I am dialing the number correctly because after about 25 attempts last night dialing the same thing over and over I finally got through. But today nothing.... I dial 011-48 then the # (which is weird because it is 9 digits instead of 10 but hey thats Poland I guess) and after 10 seconds of silence I get a tone that sounds like an old ambulance from the 1950's . I tried her mothers cell phone too and the same thing happens. But when I call any other number in the USA ,Italy or Greece it works fine.....Can someone please tell me whats going on? Also my friend from Greece called her to let her know I was trying to call her and he got through just fine.

  1. just keep trying again and again...sometimes on the weekend the lines are too busy....i just called other countries in Europe and had the same problem....!

Mike...I got a tip for you....get 2 MagicJack.com...one for you,  and one you send abroad......then you have no phone bill and call within a US area-code!!!

  2. Hi, Mike

The way to dial a Polish cellular number is, indeed, 01148(the nine-digit cellular number). The reasons why you are experiencing problems may be busy circuits (happens often enough, especially around holidays) - you've no choice but to keep trying. Have you tried sending a text?
