Trouble Recording a DVD?

Hey, I'm having trouble recording things to dvd. I have a dvd burner and I love it but the problem is that sometimes it records with sound and sometimes it doesn't.

I don't know what to do....any ideas?

one guess....

check your dvd, tv or cable box settings for the SAP.  It might be looking for a second audio program that doesn't exist and,therefore, you get blank.
