Trouble at work.......Need advice?

This new guy started in my job a couple of weeks ago and straight away we clashed. He's loud but he's also a bit of a bully. When a person starts a new job normally they re humble and a bit quiet until they get the lay of the land. But this guy.......from the word go he was pushy and trying to take over. He'd been transferred from another branch because the other manager couldn't deal with him.

Anyway very quickly me and this guy clashed and it came right down to me squaring up to him and asking him to step outside. But he chickened out. Our manager made sure we didn't work the same shifts together after that but now I find out he's been saying things about me behind my back. He's been asking others what they think of me, which is a prelude to having a little bitchin' session and he also said that somebody should give me a good beating. Obviously he's a coward because he wont say these things to my face but I dont know whether to confront him again. I mean he's free to say whatever he wants, I cant control him and what he says. But at the same time Im not happy about him conspiring like that.

Should I confront him or should I just leave it. Thanks

  1. Talk about him behind his back.  Two can play it that game.  Or just wait until he gets fired because if the other manager had to transfer him he's getting pretty close to the foot up his a** and out the door.  This guy sounds like a dumba** and once he's fired, then you can beat him up.

  2. Leave it, Don't get involved

  3. If he is saying things behind your back then get those people who are telling you these things to go to your human resource department with you and file a complaint to have it stopped.   It is creating a hostile work environment and it is creating a negative environment in the work place.   Don't wait, otherwise it may get worse.   Let management handle it.   Good luck.

  4. leave it

people will see through him, and as you said he had to leave his other branch because of his personality

    good luck and be patient

  5. leave it alone, dont let him cost you your job.  If he keeps it up, he will probably get fired.
