Question:

Trouble burning a CD on Windows Media Player?

I'm trying to burn music (.avi files) onto a CD from my Toshiba XP using Windows Media Player, but it says that I need a compatible CD. I'm using Sony CD-R's but it just says that there's been an error and the CD is wrong. Which CD should I use? Or is the CD okay, but my Media Player's going weird? If it is Media Player, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks!

  1. Your CD's are ok it just needs a program like Toast 6 Titanium to burn properly. Toast does music and images. Some people prefer to use itune to get copies.

  2. .avi is a video file. not music. you need to convert the avi file into music file such as mp3. windows media player can't help you convert it. or maybe your cd has been used.

  3. you said that you are trying to write music files but the extension you wrote is a (.avi) video format not music files.

try to change your writing option, make it a music CD and select songs or make it a video CD (for that you might be asked for video converter)

    Thanks

  4. maybe try a different file type that avi, or maybe a different CD you know, like Sony not working for Toshiba, the whole brand issue thingy.
