Question:

Trouble falling asleep/sleeping?

by  |  earlier

Every time I go to bed it takes at least 3 hours to fall asleep, and than I end up waking up @ least 2 hours later, ready to get out of bed, no matter what time it is. For example, lat night i went 2 bed at midnight, fell asleep after 4:30, and woke up around 6am. Whats wrong? Even if I'm really tired i can't fall asleep.

  1. Get this book "The Harvard Medical School Guide to a Good Night's Sleep"

by Lawrence Epstein (Author) & Steven Mardon (Author). Best book for those having trouble falling asleep & it's intended for the "average insomniac" so you don't have to worry about difficult words. I find that getting adequate exercise helps me sleep better at night, so that might work for you too.

  2. It's all STRESS....your mind is still working while you're trying to relax and get some sleep.  Whatever it is you have going on your life you need to try to resolve.  If not, you're going to have more and more sleepless nights.

  3. sometimes i do that too because i'm usually worried about something or thinking about too much.

watch tv or read a book for a few minutes and that should help even if you fall asleep on the couch.

  4. If you like drinking tea you could use a Celestial Seasoning Tea called "Sleepy Time Tea. That might help. But I would go see a nutritionist as well.

  5. consult a doctor

  6. Excitatory processes prevail over those that tend to prepare you for sleep. Anything form being over worked to over stressed to drinking soda or tea with caffeine can be at fault. Also you may be anxious and thinking too much while lying in bed, bad habit. Try to meditate, breath deep and relax when getting ready to go to sleep and eventually you will get used to this new more normal sleep pattern.

  7. Go see your doctor for advice, ask about sleeping tablets? Only use those as a last result though.

  8. If you are habitual for a standard way you can not alter the routine

  9. Do a lot of activities during the day to get yourself tired so you could go to sleep easier.

  10. maybe its because you like miley cyrus.

    brain damage .!

probably insomnia, try to chill before you sleep.

  11. try watching tv a few hours b4 going 2 sleep, get yourself tired.Don't drink or eat anything high in caffine about 2 maybe 3 hours b4 bed.I hhad trouble 2 and i have a tv in my room so i watched that if i couldnt go 2 sleep.try switching your sheets pillow cases or which end of the bed you sleep on.If your going on a trip soon try not to think about it.drink something warm before going to bed like hot chocolate, tea, and i know it sounds dum but warm milk.If your worried about something tell someone.I don't really know what else to say but I hope I helped.Or maybe try going to bed earlier maybe 10 or 11.Oh another thing, dont think about the next day or school or sleeping think about what makes you happy or something you want to happen or just close your eyes and go with whatever comes into your head!

  12. If u don't feel like consulting a doctor, try reading before sleeping or going out for a walk.I have the same problem, so i go out  walk and enjoy fresh air, it works!!

  13. go and see a doctor

  14. I've got the exact same problem. Alright here are the do's & don'ts of sleeping

    Don't-

    -listen to music (while sleeping)

    -excirse before bed

    -eat before bed

    -drink caffiene before bed

    Do-

-relax an hour before you go to bed (if u go to bed at 9 then start relaxing at 8)

-excirse mostly during the day so your tired when you go to bed

-only drink water once you hit 2 hours before bed (if you go to bed at 9 then start drinking only water at 7)

-read before bed (you can read anything, book, magazine, ect)

-relaxation technquies (yoga, gentle singing, ect)

    -talk to your doctor

Did this stuff and didn't work (or stuff didnt make sense)? Mail me at popstargirl13@yahoo.com.

  15. Well I think you should just drink alot of soda and watch alot of TV then

geta real soft bed and cozy cover.

  16. try taking melatonin it is an over the counter med it helps regulate the sleep cycle. we produce it naturally in are body's but some my not produce enough.

  17. well, i work night shifts and usually fall asleep around 6am, though i might be tired at 9pm and go to bed, i cant fall asleep =\ so it might just be your sleeping schedule? if not, i also find that if im thinking about this one boy i have a crush on a lot lol i cant fall asleep, gotta rest your mind :)

  18. Same with me too. Instead trying to sleep, I read some book or open internet. In an hour or so I get sleep.
