Question:

Trouble finding Apartment

I have been looking for a place to live for over a month. I have a family of six - me, my wife, four children (6 yr old twins, 2 yr old, 2 month old) and a year and a half ago I came out of a personal bankruptcy (effects only my credit and not my wife's). We are moving from one town to another and can only afford a 3bd apartment. I have been rejected numerous times and laughed at outright when inquiring about apartments. We currently own a house in the town we live in now but selling it for downpayment money won't work because of my credit. Any one out there got any amazing ideas on how I can find a place to live with the chips stacked against me?

  1. Look for private landlords (not agency's) Be upfront with them. Tell them that you have made bad financial judgments in the past but that you have everything in order and will never let thing get that bad again. You may need to offer 1st & last months rent along with a larger security deposit. Good luck to you and your family.
