i have absolutely no balance what-so-ever and the reason on this is so life threateningly bad is because i'm a dancer, and my complete lack balance is really holding me back,

so, anyone got any ideas on how i could improve my non-existent balance?

  1. keep trying to balance even if you try it helps. try working you stomach muscles a lot. it gives you a strong core. make should your shoulders are over you hips and your hips are over your legs. like i said before just trying to balance and strengthening you legs and ankles will help. at the begining of this year of dance i could barely hold a passe balance for two counts nw im holdign them up to almost 16 mebbe more. just from practicing them and fighting to stay up

  2. yes, an excerise I like to do to find my center/balance is this:

stand in first position. close your eyes. you may feel a bit off balance. make sure your posture is right. then when you feel comfortable lift your foot into a wrapped position or passe while keeping your eye closed. once you've mastered this, try other positions. Trust me...it really helps find your center.

  3. its important to find your center as a dancer.there are lots of different forms of balancing for instance in turning, if your balance is off it could be a multiple of things. Make sure ur arms are in a straight circle in front of you and not tilted, make sure you are spotting and your legs are locked. if you are having trouble balancing while in rel eve, again make sure tour legs are locked. I was having trouble to just standing in a second position rel eve and i was told to move my shoulders and upper body back, because i was leaning forward slightly and i could balance perfectly. and lastly its about focus find a fixed point to look at and concentrate on balancing.

    hope this helps
