Trouble joining a high school network on Facebook? Help, please?

I’m having some trouble joining my local, public high school on Facebook. I know that you go to ‘My Account’ and then click the ‘Network’ tab. I had joined facebook in 8th grade, and I had to set my age as older than I actually am. Is that the reason I can’t join the high school network? Whenever I type in my high school, it doesn’t show up. I know that it definitely has a facebook network though, because my friends are in it. Can anybody help?

the reason you can't join your network is because of the 8th grade thing. you'll have to either create a new one or just join a different network
