Trouble making new friends.?

I'm just going into my senior year of high school. All of my old friends (I've been through two different groups) are not very close to me. They got into drugs, especially smoking and dip, two things I have no interest in doing. So surely since 7th grade I have been losing connections.

Right now I only have a couple of friends in school, pretty much I'm in the group with the lowest popularity.

I'm just wondering how to make new friends when everyone in my grade already knows me, and nothing happened in the past years. I would do sports, but i'm not athletically gifted at all.

I also don't have a car, because my parents feel I would be too immature.

What do i Do?

  1. Join a club or a group, find a hobby outside of school where you'll meet new people. also, you're a senior you'll be outta there in a year anyways and be on to college and a whole bunch of new people but congrats for sticking to your guns on the drugs! you make your own reality so don't let them get you down

  2. I think taking the approach of just "finding friends" is a little strange...who do you like?  What people interest you?  Who do you know that you think is cool/interesting/worth talking to?  If you know of someone, see what they're up to, and maybe join a group, or catch them sometime after school and ask them a couple of questions about something they're interested in.  If you can't think of anyone that actually interests you--other than the friends you have--just live it up with the friends you have...and s***w everyone else.  Just realize you are happy with what you've got and make the year a great one!
