It runs very slow especially when trying to use the Internet. All of a sudden, I get pop ups about my computer wanting me to download Antivirus 2009 because it says its infected. But Im not sure about it because I never had any antivirus programs on my computer in the first place and I maybe think its not a real or the Antivirus 2009 is actually a virus in itself, but anyways its made my computer horrible, any help?

  1. I personaly hate virus programs.

But maybe i can help you.

Ok so, here is the site for this virus program i use:

    http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-F...

Now after you download, you have to replace the code from a trial version, to my code. This will mean you will get this program for free.

While installing, when you get to the page where you put youre name in, youre compnay and code, you delete the code there, and replace it with this one:

    75VNU-TH1RR1-L7-P03-C01-S3S9MD-2YN-3AU...

Do a scan, delete the viruses, and if it doesnt you have a harder option, that works perfectly.

    You do a system recovery.

If youre computer has two hard drives, a Recovery drive and a Drive C.

Then you back up all youre files that you need, music pictures etc...

Place all youre needed files in the recovery drive.

If you do not have a recovery drive, place youre files in a cd, memory cards or even IPOD, if you own one.

Now to start the recovery, youre pc shouldve came with a Recovery CD, on the front of the CD or the box the cd was held in, it should say how to do the recovery.

If youre pc didnt come with a CD, then youre computer has it inside. When you turn on youre PC, you should have the LOGO on youre screen, and somewhere it should say system recovery, and what to press to start it up, after recovery, your computer will be the same way when you first bought it.

    Hope i helped, good luck.

    I hate viruses too!

  2. What Antivirus 2009 is, is a rogue software program that pretends to be an anti-virus, but it's not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_softw...

If it's semi-legitimate there should be an un-install feature, to un-install do this: Start, Control Panel, Add Or Remove Programs, in the list of programs in the window that come's up, select antivirus 2009, Click the Change/Remove button. Then the un-installation process should begin. After that it's officialy removed. If you have doubt's do this: Start, My Computer, or control

Panel, then click the search button(magnifying glass symbol), in the sidebar click: All files and folder, in the All or part of the file name, search box, type in in: Antivirus 2009, in the Look in search box select, My Computer, then click search. If you have any result's select them by clicking the item at the top of the list, then while holding down the Shift key, click the item at the bottom of the list, then right click, in the context menu click, Delete. that should remove the file's.

Anti-virus program's that you should consider downloading.

If you want very good protection. I would recommend that you purchase Kaspersky http://www.kaspersky.com/. (From a store like Future Shop, or Staples. So you have the physical copy of the program). From what I have heard about it. It seems to be one of the best protection programs out there And it has hourly updates.

I use all of these myself, and all of them are free, they are very effective.

1 Ad-Aware 2008, Much more effective than previous versions and faster, does not suck up system resources like the previous versions, also there various skins to suit your preferences.

    http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2008/30...

2 Spybot - Search & Destroy, its a little out of date but it works.

    http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-De...

3 SpywareBlaster, blocks potentially damaging applications and programs from running.

    http://www.download.com/SpywareBlaster/3...

4 Simple File Shredder, it isn't an anti spy, but it shreds unnecessary files including cookies and it speeds up system performance.

    http://www.download.com/Simple-File-Shre...

5 MRU-Blaster, detects and cleans MRU (most recently used) lists on your computer. By looking at these MRU lists, someone could determine what files you opened/saved/looked at, what their file names were, and much more! (And, in many cases, the lists are displayed in drop-down menus automatically.) (From website.)

Also. I suggest that you stay away from online anti-spy scans. As it is not hard for a cracker to hack it, and insert some malicious code into the program which after scanning will give you even more virus's. (That's how my computer got infected once, and after that I have been advising people to stay away from them).

I personally don't like AVG, it screwed up my computer after I Un-Installed it, and Avast didn't work for me. And Trend Micro, has poor detection rates (I tried it a few week's ago (downloaded) and scanned, it found 3 items. I ran Ad-Aware after that and it found 18 items that trend micro passed right over).

And I would advise you to stay away from P2P, programs. As they are an excellent vector for infections.

    Hope this help's

  3. Anti virus2008-2009 are spyware to the extreme. If you download them you will have a tougher time getting rid of them., go to www.downloads.com and search for spybot search and destroy and AVG antivirus )both are free( for home use and they work great. THanks

  4. Go to add/remove programs and remove Antivirus 2009

Go to program folders and do the same

Run a complete scan with the new spybot 1.6.0.30, and delete all

Download from the "Softpedia secure download (RO)"

Hint: When downloading and you get to the options window, remove check from "Separate secure shredder application
