I have a dvd-r disk that i burnt some files on to but they went corrupt. so i wanted to burn over the disk (because i beleive you can) to replace those files on there. but unfornatly all programs i have will not let me burn over dvd-r disks. they keep asking for a blank one. i have programs like nero magic iso bd/dvd burner now in the process of getting roxio. so i would like to know whether anyone can tell me a program that will let you burn over a dvd-r disk please.

  1. If you want to rewrite over it, you should have purchased the dvd-r rewriteable ones.  The usually tell you if they are or not.(on the box)  But if it's just a dvd-R you can't burn it over and over. Same way with CD-R's.

  2. u can use defalt burning software, i mean whenever u want to burn some files just paste it into ur dvd-rw drive and on left side u will see burn options thru u can make it.

  3. Any part of a DVD-R disk can be written only once, so you can only overwrite it if you have left the disk session open. Not all software can handle open sessions, so you probably did not. I think Nero can, so if it says you need a new disk then the session on the old one was closed.

But if the disk has gone corrupt the LAST thing you want to do is reuse it in any way, unless you like losing files.

  4. DVD-R  and DVD+R discs can not be burn over.

if you want to burn many times in the same disc , you have to purchase DVD-RW  or DVD+RW

  5. You can only write once on a DVD-R . You need a DVD-RW to rewrite it
