Trouble with a floor cleaning machine?

ive recently started a summer job cleaning at a local supermarket. the problem is that i have to use a big machine that you push to wet and clean the floor. i used it the other day and i found that i was leaving horrible dirty marks behind where i had used it and you could see where the machine had been. does anyone know what i might be doing wrong? there is nobody that i can ask because the cleaning bosses do not come into the supermarket very often and i am left to get on with it by myself.

I think (don't know for sure) but isn't there a pad or something under the machine? whatever is leaving the marks is probably dirty....needs to be cleaned or replaced.....ya know it is their job (the bosses) to maintain equipment, train workers and solve problems (as well as make sure the floor actually gets CLEAN!) call the boss or tell the store manager and get some help....what if your boss comes in the store and sees the marks on the floor and blames or fires you !!!!!

Depending on which way you are either pulling it or pushing it, depends on how good it cleans, if the sprayer that deposits the soapy water on the floor is in the front, you are going forward
