Hello again, thanks to those who have given there answers. Another thing i have to elaborate here is that, i am not using a router. The network cable connected to my laptop is directly coming from the wall of my house.. no routers, i've only got one laptop.that is why i am puzzled why my IP address is 192.168.0.1.. i was thinking that my ISP is using a router! Now, i cannot connect through the internet,or i am always disconnected because it says" your Ip address is in conflict with another system in the network". I am paying for an indivdual account. Worse, i tried to contact my ISp eversince yesterday, there phone lines are always "engaged'. What do you think?

  1. That IP address doesn't make sense. It's a standard router gateway IP addres.

Click start/run and enter these commands

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    and see if that helps.

  2. certifications-

  3. Some ISP supplied "DSL modems" are actually routers that provide NAT address translation (Verizon / Westell is one) so that 192.168.0.1 IP address is no big deal.

Start your troubleshooting by checking your transceiver stats (modem parameters). It is #3 here:

  4. Hmm.. It seems like you have another computer in your house? Wow, this is confusing. Did you try rebooting your modem? Try it.

    EDIT:

    Browni, you forgot ipconfig /flushdns

    Try it..
