  1. if I understand correctly, you introduced the key and does not start, and if booted stopped.

I had the same problem, proved to be a relay (a small electric appliance), after a long look, I changed the battery and was not.

I went to a workshop mechanic put the car into the computer and find fault in the relay. One thing small hard to find.

I hope I have been of help, my English is not too good, I apologize:).

  2. Auto electrician will test alternator output and battery condition for you. From what you say it sounds like a duff battery.

  3. Yes check the battery and connection leads if there is corrosion at the terminals clean and put vaseline on them.Hve your battery checked out to see if it is holding a charge.

  4. starter solenoid, piggy backed onto top of the starter motor, has packed up or the starter motor bendix has seized up

  5. You need to give more detail. Does it click every time you turn the key?

The clicking is the solenoid. If the starter motor sometimes works, then it's probably a faulty solenoid.

  6. It's the battery mate, replace it.

  7. I have a mondeo 2.5 the same thing happened to me two months ago.

    It was the starter motor

  8. Guaranteed it's a flat battery - had this problem several time with Fords, the starter relay engages, realises there's not enough power to start the car, it disengages, and so on, giving you the click-click-click sound. Try jump starting, and check that the charging is OK before simply swapping for a new battery.
