Hello, my p.h. is at like yellow on the card which is the lowest you can get. Well, when I was in florida on a fishing dock I found a coral that was still alive. What my question is, is can I like dip the coral in the water since it makes ph go up, and if so how long should I keep it in? I want experienced answer and someone who knows!!!

  1. just go to petco and buy a heater it is better than taking risks

  2. If your Ph has dropped like that I am guessing your nitrates are probaly quite high. How big is your tank and what is your stock? What is the Ph strait out of your tap? Your Ph could also plummet if you have a low Kh, which is your waters buffering ability. The higher your Kh the more stable yor Ph will stay. Coral can help to a degree but is very slow to react and unstable. If all your other water reading s are good I would recommend using a buffer of some sort...Seachem has a lot to choose from. This will raise your Kh which will help stabilize your Ph. If the Ph out of your tap is higher (which I am guessing it will be) do 40-50% water changes for consecutive days to get it back up. It has some useful info in it. This site also has A LOT of great information.

Regular weekly water changes with vacuuming if not all ready done should be done.

  3. Dont do it.

The coral will die in your tank and pollute the water. Likely to kill your fish with ammonia before it messes with the pH.
