We just replaced our toilet. The water in the tank goes to the bowl and it will not go down fast. It will go slow but not fast anough to do any good. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be wrong. We replaced everything that can be replaced on it.

  1. Could be blockage in the drains in the bowl. Use a mirror and check the flush water to see if they are all draining.

Bowl might still have sand in it from casting. Try also dumping a bucket of water directly into the bowl to see how fast the system accepts the water, could be a blocked sewer line under the bowl. You would be surprised at what plumbers find in sewer pipes when they are dug up. SOME women flush their used pads.......................................

And by the way, there was a law passed about low water flushing...........a 3 gallon flusher as opposed to the bigger tank. Supposed to save water......................................

  2. Why did you replace it?Did you get the correct tank for the bowl(Home Depot is always mixing them up).It probably isn't an "American Standard" either.Does a bubble of air come up in the bowl when flushed (indicates blocked vent).

  3. I'm guessing you bought a cheap toilet. Cheap toilets don't have glazing through the goose neck hence, water flow is restricted and doesn't "flush". Get a better toilet (if this is the case).

  4. all good ideas above.  just to add my two sense how many wax rings did you use.  one per toilet,

  5. is this the reason you installed a new toilet ?  if so it sounds more like a venting problem . also you can check to see if it is a defective  toilet by getting a bucket of water and dump it in the toilet  bowl directly . if it goes down  properly  you know that there is some sort of blockage between the tank and the bowl .if not check the plumbing vents  they may have become blocked  .
