Trouble with ps3 and wireless router?

I can never get my ps3 to connect to my router. it notices the signal when i set it up and go through all the steps and enter the correct info. i even do the automatic way, but when i get to the end where it tests the connection, it times out. all the time! i have the new apple wireless router. and i dont understand because i can get my xbox 360 wireless to work fine, but it's just that darn ps3...

  1. If you can connect your PS3 via ethernet cable. This should make it work could you provide more details about your router?


  2. O know you know all the steps but I'm going to tell you what I know to see if you're doing it the right way.

    got to:

    -settings

    -network settings

    -then go to the thing where you set up your connection

    select easy, search for wireless networks, choose yours.

    now, if you have a WEP key, enter it in. If you don't know your WEP key, call the person or company that set up your router and they will tell you what it is.

    If you don't have a WEP key, then you can say none, and everything will go in automatically.

    If that dosen't work then I hope you get the problem resolved soon.


  3. same thing happens with me, what your gonna have to do is call you router company, (mine was netgear), they will run you through everything, what you need to do is also get the ip adress of the ps3, under system information so the guy can make it compatible. it worked for me, every once in a while it will time out but it works. hope i helped
