Trouble with the blackberry curve

i must be dumbbb or something, because i've been trying to do this for months and i just can't figure it out. i want to change the sounds of my notifications on my blackberry. i've looked it up and you go to profiles and so on. whereee is the profiles list or whatever that everyone is talking about? where do i find that? is it supposed to just be on my home screen because if it is, then it's not there. the sounds are killingggg me haha, and i just can't figure it out. pleasseee someone help me before i go insaneee! thank youuuu

please go to applications, and then select the profiles (nomally it's a speaker icon), there you will find a list of profile (loud, vibrate, quite, normal, phone only, and off), just scroll to the bottom and you will find advance, select it, another menu will open (with use active profle .... at the bottom of the menu), highlight the profile you want to modify, hit menu button, select edit, and select which application sounds you want to change

Do this in the mean time: press the green call key to get to the Phone module. Press the BlackBerry menu key (the one to the left of the track ball; with the dots), and then select Options. Go to General Options and set the Dial From Home Screen option to No. Save the changes.

Now, go back to the Home Screen and press the F key. That should bring up a list of the Profile names. Scroll to the bottom where it says Advanced, and then press the track ball. You will be taken to the list of profiles. Highlight the profile with the word 'Active' next to it, press the menu key, then select Edit. You will see a list of the different notification options. You can select any of them and make the changes for the sounds, and save your changes.

After all that is done, if you want the Dial From Home Screen option set back, then go to the Phone module > Options > General Options and set it back to Yes.
