Troubled WR Kenny Britt’s return delayed as Tennessee Titans put him on PUP list– NFL News
Tennessee Titans’ wide receiver Kenny Britt has been made to wait along with rookie safety Markelle Martin until passing of physical to get fitness clearance to play.
Both players are placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, meaning they will have to pass physical as a mandatory requirement to become eligible to take part in any formal football activity. This will be after they declare
themselves fully recovered and ready to return.
It is another setback for the troubled Kenny Britt, who has recently been charged for driving under the influence (DUI) through to Fort Campbell Army installation on July 20.
With regard to the injury scares, he had an arthroscopic surgery on his left knee soon after the three-day mandatory minicamp in June 2011 and then another surgery on his right knee to repair an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in September
same year. He had the second surgery on the right knee in May this year.
The team without confirming latest status of his recovery said they have placed him on the PUP list, which makes his availability uncertain and unpredictable.
The player himself is facing some other troubles lately and has remained silent on the injuries issue. Apart from the recent arrest and charges of DUI, he has not been linked to any report that could speculate the possible timeline of
his return to action.
All the stakeholders in Tennessee as well as his agent are silent on the issue. It looks that after getting the DUI charge, his comeback can be hit by further delays, especially if he faces the trial.
There is no information if he has denied the charge or pleaded guilty to them, which will likely be the case if he enters a bargain deal with the prosecutors.
The Titans in the meantime have confirmed putting safety Markelle Martin on the PUP list as well, but the status of his injury has not been disclosed.
The Titans also put rookie offensive lineman Chandler Burden on the waivers just before the start of training camp.
