Dear Leecon72,Thank you for responding to my request for assistance. The monitorcompletely crashed Saturday morning. When the PC started nothingdisplayed except various color patterns and squares. However, I was able to access the machine via safe mode. When I started it again on Sunday, the screen returned to somewhat normal operation. The vertical / horizontal lines are still present during normal operations but it is background to normal text and icons. Any light you can shed on this problem is greatly appreciated. Thanks,DhuI said: Dear Fixya,I was running multiple CPU intensive applications. Computer threw exception and blue screen emerged with memory dump message.Next time I tried to start laptop, screen would only display series of fine horizontal and verticalgridlines. I started in safe mode and removed some of the music filesfrom my computer since it appeared I only had about a 1G of free memoryleft on the laptop. I now have 2G free. I restarted the computer andstill had gridlines. This morning I started the laptop and thegridlines appeared but this time the windows logon appeared and thestandard screen eventually displayed. But the problem is that thegridlines are now present with the normal screen. It is on the edges ofthe display screen and on various icons. How can I troubleshoot thisproblem? Thanks,Dhu
