  1. Don't gut it right them and their, the smell could attract bears if you live in an area that has them. When you catch them, just put them in a cooler with a bit of ice and a bit of water. (in my opinion) it is not a must to put the fish over ice, when i go fishing i almost never bring a cooler with ice, i just but them in a shady spot out of the sun, or, i put them on the same bucket as my cast net an close up the back of the truck to keep 'em out of the sun.

    ```good catchin```
  3. well once you get the hook out of its mouth, set it on top of the ice in a cooler or string it and put it in the water.store on ice until you are ready to clean it. to clean trout take your filleting knife and stick it through the but up to the mouth, and then you pull out the guts and  put it in in alluniem foil and put it on the grill. take it off after 10min flipping consistantly. then you have to fillets and you just take out the rigcage and cook them up!!! hope i helped you out!  : )
  4. Depending on temperature i would gut it as soon as you can, with its guts in the fish should be OK in a electric cool box, such as those by Coleman, with a mixture of 50/50 water and ice, if you know its going to be stored longer than three hours gut it. Trout have a bad habit of leaking their stomach contents into the flesh around them when left for a while.
  5. Just put the fish you catch on ice then you can clean all the fish you catch when you get home.  You can keep them in the ice chest as long as there is enough ice covering the fish for about 16 hours before you have to clean them.
