Trovare likely to win Goodwood Stakes (Handicap)
The Amanda Perrett trained bay gelding, Trovare, is vying to notch up top spot in the Goodwood Stakes (Handicap) that will take place at Goodwood racecourse on Wednesday, August 1. The Class 2 contest over 2 miles and 5 furlongs is schedule to begin at 2:00 (GMT).
For the prize money worth £18,675, the five-year-old veteran horse will show his guts against 19 worthy competitors. He is supposed to run on a good track that he has experienced for many times in his 24-race career.
Trovare picked up immense confidence and momentum by winning the Betdaq Casino Games Handicap at Kempton on July 11, 2012. The enthusiastic sprinter thrived despite being a non-favourite candidate.
Following that tremendous triumph, the talented son of Smart Strike out of Abita nicely finished as the runner-up in the Lingfield Park Owners Group Handicap over 2 miles on July 18. The maverick horse was the 85-40 favourite for that race.
These two descent performances have tuned up the gelding’s form well. As a whole, the John Connolly owned runner has five classic conquests to his name. Interestingly, Trovare broke his maiden at Goodwood by winning the Family Fun On May 31st Stakes (Handicap) in May 2010.
In his second and last outing over there, he finished 11th against 18 rivals. Now, the energetic horse is going to the same venue again with an aim to earn a sterling success.
On his way towards the boundary strap, Trovare will have to face a lot of resistance from Cape Express who is on the verge of a hat-trick at the moment. The Nicky Henderson bay gelding marvellously won the Freebets.Co.Uk Free Bets Conditional Jockeys’ Novices’ Hurdle at Hereford on June 24.
The son of Cape Cross out of Lilissa moved forward to finish first in the Pershore Plum Festival Night 31st July Novices’ Hurdle at Worcester on July 25.
Earlier, the A. D. Spence owned horse won the Corinthian Surgical Supporting Rotary Eradication Maiden Hurdle at Southwell on May 15.
In this situation, a rip-roaring clash is expected at Goodwood. Let us see who of the two mighty candidates walks away with victory. Good luck to the duo.
