Troy Tulowitzki’s triple RBIs help Colorado Rockies defeat Arizona Diamondbacks 8-3 - MLB Update

Colorado Rockies’ short-stop, Troy Tulowitzki had an outstanding day with the bat as he struck three RBIs including a solo run and went 1-for-4 with an average of .304 in the Rockies’ 8-3 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Coors Field, Colorado
on September 6.
Diamondbacks started well as they added their initial run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. Miguel Montero was grounded out to second base and Aaron Hill posted a single run. Justin Upton occupied second base to end the first inning. The batters looked
powerless from the second to fourth inning.
John McDonald doubled to deep left-centre but Gerardo Parra lined out to left-field and Chris Young struck-out during second inning without taking even a single run. At the bottom of third inning, Jordan Pacheco singled to centre-field but at short-stop,
Mark Ellis and Dexter Fowler both grounded out without contributing runs.
Rockies’ starter, Jason Hammel pitched seven innings and struck-out six batters on his 95 pitches. He permitted two runs, one walk, one earned run and six hits with an ERA of 4.98. In the fifth inning, Rockies levelled the game 1-1 when Pacheco was grounded
out to third base but Seth Smith scored a tie run.
Sixth inning remained empty as the pitchers threw perfectly. Diamondbacks went ahead with 2-1 lead during seventh inning when Parra drove a single-run shot to left-field and Paul Goldschmidt posted the leading run. In the eighth inning, Diamondbacks’ batters
were able to add just one run while Rockies smashed seven runs to take a convincing 8-3 lead.
At the top of eighth inning, Hill posted a single run for Diamondbacks when Montero reached to third base on an infield single. On the other side, Fowler scored one run on the single-run shot of Carlos Gonzalez. Tulowitzki hit a three-run homer (425 feet)
towards left-centre while Ellis and Gonzalez both added two collective runs.
Speaking to reporters, Tulowitzki said, “That ball to Pacheco is a tough play.”
Ty Wigginton added one run when Seth Smith drove a triple-run shot to left-field. The sixth run was taken by Smith when Pacheco singled off centre-field. Wilin Rosario scored the last run to end the seven-run campaign for Rockies as Fowler walked and Pacheco
moved to third base. As a result, Rockies were able to level the three-game series 1-1 by with this exciting win.
