Police said a strong gust of wind caused a three-vehicle pileup and has closed Interstate 65 south of Nashville.

The accident Sunday morning has shut down all south bound lanes. Police said the driver of a semi-truck swerved and lost control when hit by a strong wind, causing the truck to flip.

A second semi-truck swerved to miss the overturned semi and bounced off the median, losing its load before hitting trees on the side of the road.

A SUV unable to stop struck the overturned semi. No life-threatening injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory warning of gusts up to 40 mph for much of Tennessee after severe weather moved in overnight.
