Do these new trucks still have an ignition button or do they start with a key now a days?

What is the black lever for on the dash used for?

Wanting to get into driving....

most of the newer trucks have a ignition just like starting yuor car,they pretty much cut out the starter button when they went to computer controlled engines. as for the blach lever on the dash its more likely to be the trailer brake,when pulled on this will only apply the brakes on the trailer and not the truck, sterlings put them on the dash,inter. are on the steering wheel ,so is frieght.and kenwhoppers, good luck getting back in the seat and hope for many safe miles....

Truck starts with a key. The black lever is your trailer brake on the dash. There is another black lever on the shifter if you drive a split shift transmission
