Question:

Truck...see details?

I'm a landscaper and I am looking for a used truck. I need a truck that is big enough to haul my 5000lb trailer AND a tonne (2000lbs) of debris.

I've been looking at the Ford F-350 Superduty and the Dodge Ram 3500 and want to know what problems exist with them and what questions I should be asking about the truck. I am looking for a truck that is 1996 or newer.

Are there model years that are better than others? If so what are they? And what makes them better?

Diesel or gas?

(Environmentalists need not rant about the pollution facts of big trucks -- talk to the people who use the big vehicles for city driving)

  1. Yes you have already found the 2 best truck for what you are looking for. As far as longevity goes, it all comes down to abuse and maintenance both of these trucks are work horses. In buying a truck make sure you get the owners list to see how it was used. Rental companies stay clear of as every person will have beat upon it. When buying a truck try and find one that has had as few owners as possible. As a well maintained truck, oil changes, tune ups, are regular repairs will long live passed the expectancy limit.

good luck use common sense, and follow your instincts.
