  1. Check the door jamb sticker.  That might list gross vehicle weight.  That is if it hasn't faded in 30 years...

  2. I have a '78 GMC dually 4x4 pickup. The GVW for mine is 10,000 lbs. The GCW is 16,000 lbs for a truck/trailer combination. The truck itself weighs about 7200 lbs. with both tanks full and nothing in the bed. If yours is only 2 wheel drive or has a longer wheelbase than my crew cab, your weights might be more. I got the gross weights off the door sticker, and I know how much the truck weighs cause I scaled it years ago.

If you need to know the weight of your truck when empty, go to a truckstop with a scale, or, to a scrap yard if there are no truckstops near you. They will weigh your truck and give you a certified weight slip for around $10.00

    Hope this helps.

  3. ballpark.... 5500-6500lbs
