Question:

Truck won't accelerate?

I have a 89 Toyota pickup and I'm having a problem. When I start to drive, it barely goes. After about 15 seconds or so, it finally gets going, but then I have to shift into 2nd, at which point it does the same thing again for about another 15 seconds.

Any idea what this might be?

  1. clutch is on it's way out... verify by watching your tachometer vs your speedometer

  2. depends on how low of RPM's your shifting it at. But if your a pro driver then it's either your fuel filter, your throttle body needing to be cleaned, or possibly but unlikkely loosing compression.

  3. try a new fuel filter,it could be blocked...
