Trucks with good gas mileage

Question

i reccently graduated and the car that was handed down to me reccently broke down so i decided on picking out a used pickup truck, so can anyone name some pickups that are good or decent on gas?

Try and find a smaller truck. Something along the size of a Ford Ranger or Chevy S-10. Toyota probably has a small truck also, im just not certain of the name of it.

Again...look for a smaller truck, - Chevy S-10, Ford Ranger, Mazda B-2000 (Ranger), GMC Sonoma (S-10), then, when you find out the make and model, you want to get the smallest engine possible, which should be a 4 cylinder...also if you can drive a manual transmission, that too will save you at the pump- Good Luck!!

depends on what kind of used you are in the market to get, and wether you want a mini-truck or a full sized...

as far as full sized, diesel generaly get better milage, as far as diesel, you can look up what rpm peak torque is produced at, and when you are on the freeway, try to set your cruise to set match your rpm to that.

full sized diesel can get 22mpg without very much effort

as far as mini truck, the  VW Rabbit Pickup gets pretty good mileage (in the 45mpg range)

If you are looking for a truck with great gas mileage for the price I would look at a GMC Canyon or a Chevrolet Colorado. They are smaller trucks that are fairly great on price, and good on gas mileage for a truck.

Any of the mini trucks out there are good on gas.

Ford Ranger, Chevy S-10.

With fuel prices what they are, you should be able to find a truck for a really good price.
