  1. Not true...I can hide my bills unopened in a drawer, but I still know in my head that they are due and I need to pay them or suffer the consequences.  Parents that send their kids off to college do not see the kid if he moves out of state, but they will still think, wonder, and worry about his well being, how he's faring with school etc.

  2. "Out of sight, out of mind."

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder."

I guess you can take your pick!

  3. hello.

I think that is not true, because the Reality (and i say the real Reality) doesn't need  us for exist.

And we are receptors of the Reality not vice versa.

Therefore, the Reality is the true and we are a way (not a part, cause there are not parts, only one Reality) of the Reality, and for that reason, we perceive the Reality in parts.

    A hug

  4. True but Not true, in my opinion. B/c yes we would prefer to have proof of something to believe it but something could be true even if you didn't see or believe it. If you choose to see it to believe it you could possibly miss out on something.

On the other hand, out of sight, out of mind could be in good favor to you. Ex. if someone cheats on you but you didn't find out then you wouldn't know and it would hurt.

  5. In my opinion NO. Well, I think that you cannot forget things just because of not seeing them, especially those that have affected you emotionally.

  6. True enough.  If something worries you, push it out of sight and you'll stop thinking about.  Of course being "out of mind" is not necessarily where we want our problems.  Avoidance of problems may be only temporary.  They can still come back and bite us.  This is what happens to a lot of people with their taxes.

Of course, if you try avoiding your problems and you get by OK, you were probably worrying about stuff needlessly and they weren't even your problems.

  7. Depends what it is, maybe for a while this could be true, but only for a short while.

  8. i wish!

  9. Kind of plays on the cliche saying "You need to see it, to believe it."

In the most general sense, yes, I do believe this statement to be true. In order to imagine something, we need a physical reference or at least something we've experienced and/or have seen before. Without a prior experience with this 'something', we cannot imagine nor begin to construct how this 'something' would appear or how to mentally construct it.

  10. For a small mind, ... true enough.

  11. Hum, I was going to say true and reference my son going off to college, however someone pointed out that yes, I still thought of him.   My thoughts were different than when he is home. At home I tend to dramatically worry if he is out later than expected. While away I had general concerns about his health, his grades, what he did with his free time (did he study enough). So I guess it is somewhat true in the intensity of the worry. And like his older married sister out of sight and out of mind also changes with age.
