So i just saw the replay of Peter-Maskaev and i actually heard Lampley say a pretty smart thing for once. When Emmanuel Steward said that Samuel Peter is the first Nigerian-born Champion, Lampley said that he is a "Titleist" not a Champion, a Champion is someone who is widely considered the sinle Champ, so my question is who are the current Champs in each division in your opinion? i have my list but i want to hear your's first.

  1. I agree with Lampley on his statement. Anyway here's my list:

    Heavyweight: Wladimir Klitschko

    Cruiserweight: David Haye

*Light Heavyweight: Zsolt Erdei (It was tough pick, but I pick him over Woods because he's reigning champ longer than Woods)

    Super Middleweight: Joe Calzaghe

    Middleweight: Kelly Pavlik

    Junior Middleweight: Joachim Alcine

    Welterweight: Floyd Mayweather

    *Junior Welterweight: Paulie Malignaggi

Lightweight: Nate Champion (only fitting since he upsets Juan Diaz)

    *Junior Lightweight: Juan Manuel Marquez

Featherweight: Chris John (his win over Marquez is the only reason I have him in the spot)

    Super Bantamweight: Israel Vazquez

Bantamweight: Wladimir Sidorenko (Another tough.... not quite sure in that division)

    Junior Bantamweight: Fernando Montiel

Flyweight: Nonito Donaire (Another tough.... not quite sure in that division)

    Junior Flyweight: Ulises Solis

Strawweight: I'm not sure anymore, since Ivan Calderon left the division

    * In the divisions with the asterisk, Hopkins, Hatton and Pacquiao would have been my number one, but since they are not holding significant titles I omitted them.

  2. Mayweather Jr.........................................

  3. I completely agree with what Lampley said, Peter is a titlist not a champion yet.  My list is like this:

Heavyweight: no one yet, but if Peter and Wladimir fight a rematch that will fill the vacancy.

    Cruiserweight: David Haye

    Light heavyweight: Bernard Hopkins

    Super Middleweight: Joe Calzaghe

    Middleweight: Kelly Pavlik

Junior middleweight: no one, but the best is  between Vernon Forrest, Cory Spinks, or Sergei Dzinziruk.

    Welterweight: Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

    Junior welterweight: Ricky Hatton

Lightweight: Joel Casamayor- I know he got a gift in his last fight but he is still the linear, true champ until he actually loses.

Super featherweight: no one, but the vacancy will be filled this weekend when Manny Pacquiao fights his rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez.

Featherweight: no one, but the best is between Chris John and Robert Guerrero.

    Junior featherweight: Israel Vazquez

    Bantamweight: no one yet.

Super flyweight: no one but the two best are Fernando Montiel and Cristian Mijares.

Flyweight: no one yet, but Nonito Donaire is probably the best.

    Light flyweight: Ivan Calderon

    Strawweight:  no one yet.

  4. heavyweight: Wladimir Klitchko

    cruiserweight: David Haye

light heavyweight: Bernard Hopkins now but Woods or Dawson if they win their respective matches on April 12

    supermiddleweight: Joe Calzaghe

    middleweight: Kelly Pavlik

light middleweight: need a unification Spinks verse Forrest but Cory Spinks for now

welterweight: Miguel Cotto because Floyd hasn't fought a contender in that weight since 2006 Hatton was light welterweight, fought Oscar at light middleweight

    light welterweight:Ricky Hatton

lightweight: Nate Campbell needs to fight winner of Cassamayor / Katsidis

    superfeatherweight: Manny Pacquaio

    featherweight: Chris John

    superbantamweight: Israel Vazquez

    bantamweight: Hozumi Hasegawa

    superfly: Alexander Munoz

    fly: Nonito Donaire

    lightfly: Ulises Solis

minimum: I have no idea to be honest

  5. Heavyweight: Wladimir Klitschko

    Cruiserweight: David Haye

    Light-heavyweight: Bernard Hokpins

    Super-middleweight: Joe Calzaghe

    Middleweight: Kelly Pavlik

    Super-welterweight: Cory Spinks

    Welterweight: Vernon Forrest

    Super-lightweight: Ricky Hatton

    Lightweight: Juan Diaz

    Super-featherweight: Manny Pacquiao (P4P #1)

    Featherweight: Robert Guerrero
