I'm curious... how many of you claim to have have had a real paranormal experience? I'm taking a survey for my website, and would love to know.

Thanks in advance...

  1. Sorry, but

You won't get anything but ridicule and abuse here. This place is not what it is supposed to be. It is not moderated and the children run rampant.

I would leave your website URL under new details and let good intended people come over there.

I would love to see it.

  2. It's the children who believe in ghosts and monsters.Adults are supposed to tell them it's not true. This is a science section and it;s difficult not to appear unkind to paranormal believers.Ghosts, spirits, demons psychics that's not science. It's myth and silliness.Sorry, but that's the truth, even if you believe otherwise. There is no basis in science for the paranormal. It's all based on faith.Go ahead if you want, but it will be commented on.I think rightly so.

  3. Yes. Many times.

  4. Here are some study and survey results you might find useful.

A recent Gallup survey shows that just about three in four Americans hold some paranormal belief -- in at least one of the following: extra sensory perception (ESP), haunted houses, ghosts, mental telepathy, clairvoyance, astrology, communicating with the dead, witches, reincarnation, and channeling. There are no significant differences in belief by age, gender, education, or region of the country.

A recent study found that paranormal belief is not indicative of psychopathology. This study has taken an exploratory role in the nonskeptic domain of paranormal research by examining the overall personality of a high believer. If the findings suggests that high believers function just as normally as low believers, then what is it that draws people to believe in the paranormal? The current findings seemed to indicate that one's social environment may play a more significant role in paranormal belief. For example, high believers indicated that they read/watched more TV programs with a paranormal theme, as well as had friends who also held similar beliefs. Sparks, Nelson, and Campbell (1997) also found that exposure to televised programs depicting paranormal phenomena influenced paranormal belief.

Another study has concluded that there is no significant relationship between a person's propensity to believe in the paranormal and the strength of their religious beliefs.

  5. Yep!  56 years of weird stuff and still going! You mean like the time brother's girl friend took a bath and forgot to drain the water, and it froze solid in 2 hours, in August, in San Diego, in 86 degree weather?  Got to love a good haunted house!

  6. everybody has had some type of paranormal experience. whether it be ghosts, feelings, or smells. most brush it off because they are not comfortable with the knowledge that life doesnt stop at physical death. Or that someone can sense what others cant.

  7. I don't know where to start. I've seen a ghost, had psychic experiences, and lately it seems like there's a poltergiest around. The poltergiest experiences started on Friday 17th a little before 1:30 a.m. with mysterious knocking. Last night, I was watching t.v., and all of a sudden, the t.v. turns off by itself. The power didn't go out because there was a lamp on that remained lit.

  8. Yes. A close ufo sighting.

  9. By Paranormal, do you mean like deja vu, seeing the future, or having contact with ghost[s]? If its the last one, count me in. Or do you just mean all of those things in general? :/
