True Verdict, very difficult to beat in Grangecon Stud Stakes at Curragh
True Verdict very much sets the standards and will be the one to beat in the Grangecon Stud Stakes, taking place at Curragh on Sunday, July 1st. The Grade 3 event for fillies will be kicked off at 15:10 (GMT). On soft to heavy track, eight quality runners will compete for a handsome cash prize worth €34,125.
True Verdict has been maintaining the highest standards since her debut. The spectators at Naas saw her making a wonderful debut in May, when she finished second behind Mironica in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2yo Fillies Maiden.
She performed brilliantly right through the contest, but was unlucky. As a result, the David Wachman-trained missed the gold medal only by half a length. The dashing filly displayed an equally good show the following month, securing the runner-up place in the Coolmore Stud European Breeders Fund Sprint Stakes.
He settled in rear early on, but an excellent effort helped her become prominent in the final moments. Despite an outstanding performance, she could not make any impressive on Sky Lantern, who grabbed the winning prize by ½ a length. After a couple of unlucky rides, Mrs B. V. Sangster’s filly is expected to break the shackles. So, the punters can take a chance on her.
Out of others, Sendmylovetorose looks to be the most dangerous contestant. The 2-year-old was super impressive on her debut last month, winning the Lynn Lodge Stud European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden by 5½ lengths at Navan. The conditions are slightly different this time, but still her sky-high confidence is hard to overlook.
Slope improved her work dramatically after being crushed by Move To Strike here in May. In the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden, David Wachman’s charge missed the crown only by a neck’s distance. Boston Rocker also raised her game after an embarrassing defeat at Navan in May.
There are plenty of in-form runners in the line-up. Nonetheless, True Verdict has an obvious chance of bagging the big prize. She needs just a slice of luck to open her account. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
