  1. I think back to the Amish of Quarryville, Pa who asked for prayers and forgiveness for the man who killed their children and think you might be on to something.

  2. I never heard this before but it has an element of truth.  Jesus said to pray for those who persecute you.  Now, I think that would probably include your worst enemy.  He also says to bless those who curse you.  Now that's a hard thing too and it goes along with this and forgiving them  innumerable times.  We must show love, mercy and compassion to others even our enemy.

  3. I dont think the jews prayed to Hitler or Mengele. I certainly didnt pray for Dahmer or Bundy. 9/11 widdows didnt pray for terrorist so not praying for your worst enemy is fine.

  4. True. If you love god, then you see an essence of god in all other beings. you could selflessly pray  for mercy, devine guidance and grace for even your worst enemy. It helps u cultivate forgiveness, and not seek revenge

  5. I think that may be bit of a stretch; but I do like the jest.

Praying for our friends and enemies are a gimme. But just think, if you are an "enemy" to someone it's possible they have other enemies too.

If all the enemies prayed for one another, then everyone would be prayed for. Also, I have found from personal experience that once you start praying earnestly for an enemy, it's not too long that either they become a friend, or they are removed from the picture entirely.

  6. Does praying for them to be "tared" by bears count? Or was Elisha in God's Fave 5?

  7. False. no need to pray. god doesn't exist...but if u are a "believer" you can get into "heaven" with out ever praying. as longs as you are a general good person and all that **** you set.

  8. Does it matter?  Prayers only benefit those who engage in them.  It gives them that warm, fuzzy feeling inside that they get when they think they're helping others.
