    7. False. In countries such as China and India, governments have tried to curb population growth through various means, including forceful sterilisation. No more in the discourse of south Asian countries, does one find reference to population growth as the major cause for poverty. Countries have been successful in bring down rates of population growth. Neo-liberal policies, migration to urban centres, falling prices of agricultural goods, and other such factors are considered more important in contemporary development discourses.     8. True.UN has taken stands on Human Rights. Examples of this are in plenty. (I think this should be the answer, but I may be wrong, which would be telling! not confident)
