True or false? Is it true that chiles that are grown home can pick up bacteria?

I was hearing the news and said its true. Is it true?

It really depends on how you handle them.   If they are in an enclosed area, away from invasion by animals, and if you wash your hands before you pick them and wash the chilies before putting them away.  They should not get contaminated and should be fine.
